If you’re interested in becoming a mentor to the talented young entrepreneurs we’re funding through the 100 Urban Entrepreneurs Funding and Mentoring Program, please let us know.

100 Urban Entrepreneurs is a nonprofit foundation offering $10,000 startup-financing grants, as well as business education and advice, to some of the country’s most promising young entrepreneurs. Advice from experienced, successful businesspeople is among the most valuable commodities a young entrepreneur can acquire, and that’s why we’d love to partner with you.

We want to showcase your professional expertise, and help ambitious young businesspeople tap into your knowledge. Mentors engage with our funded entrepreneurs in the following ways:

• By conducting, via conference call, at least one group mentoring session with our fundees, delivering a 20-minute presentation on your area of expertise.

• By spending a total of at least four hours holding “office hours” via phone or videoconference, during which entrepreneurs can schedule appointments to talk with you individually.

• By spending a total of at least three hours visiting with or directly advising three local entrepreneurs.

• By producing a short but detailed report summarizing your experience with the entrepreneurs you’ve worked with, and offering your recommendations about how best they can move their business forward based on what you’ve seen.

In exchange for your participation, we’d be glad to give you and your business considerable exposure — in the form of banner ads, blog posts, product partnerships and numerous other means.
