100 URBAN ENTREPRENEURS was in Boston from July 27-30, 2011, for the National Urban League‘s annual conference, whose theme this year was “Jobs Rebuild America.”
On the last day of the conference — Saturday, July 30 — we hosted one of our signature “Never Stop Pitching!” 60-Second Business-Pitch events (as part of the NUL’s one-day “Small Business Matters!” entrepreneurship summit), and added two new entrepreneurs to the 100UE funding-and-mentoring program; both will receive $10,000 in startup financing and eight weeks of intensive business mentoring:
• Veronica Chapman, My Crowning Jewel
• Kofi Frimpong, GZpoints
For more information on this and future 100UE 60-Second Business-Pitch events, keep your eyes on 100UrbanEntrepreneurs.org, as well as our Twitter feed. Congratulations to Chapman and Frimpong, and thanks to both the National Urban League and everyone who came out to support it.
