THERE’S NO CITY in America with more resonance for 100 Urban Entrepreneurs than Atlanta, and to underscore the point, we headed back to Georgia’s capital on Friday, July 29, to host our fourth “Never Stop Pitching!” 60-Second Business-Pitch event in ATL.
The event, held at the Woodruff Arts Center in conjunction with the Obama administration’s ongoing Urban Entrepreneurship Summit, was a wild success. Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed was among the dignitaries in attendance, and the keynote speech was delivered by Atlanta’s own movie mogul, Tyler Perry.
Meanwhile, 100UE heard pitches from a handful of Atlanta’s most talented young entrepreneurs, and offered $10,000 in startup financing and eight weeks of intensive business mentoring to two of them:
• Lawrence Watkins and Tre Baker, Ujamaa Deals
• Brittany K. Earls, Genesis Magazine
We’ll have much more about these talented businesspeople in the days ahead; keep your eyes on 100UrbanEntrepreneurs.org and also our Twitter feed. Congratulations to Watkins, Baker, Earls and Fisher, and huge thanks to everyone who came out to support the 100UE nationwide movement!
