According 2 Hip-Hop, the first mobile trivia game based on lyrics, is currently available on Apple’s iTunes for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Our mission is to bridge the gap between the history of hip-hop culture and its future using mobile technology in an innovative way.

HOW $10,000 WILL HELP: “It’ll help defray development costs for the next Apple iOS version for the iPhone and iPod Touch, and a version for Apple’s iPad,” Young says. “We’ll also launch a marketing campaign to penetrate the New York City market, which has the country’s greatest proliferation of Apple devices. We’ve projected that we’ll need $360,000 to become profitable and launch on the Android and BlackBerry platforms, as well as develop a board game. The $10,000 from 100 Urban Entrepreneurs is a start.”

IN 2003, Ron Young and Michael Dothard cofounded Drip Entertainment LLC, a promotions and artist-management company. Young was also a member of the online team that, in 2000, had launched the Cartoon Network’s Web site. He has also served as a consultant for numerous companies founded by innovative entrepreneurs, including CrossPlatform Design in Richmond, Virginia; Peachtree Labs in Atlanta; and MyDailyThread in New York and Atlanta. Maurice Thompson founded his graphic-design company, Click Artist Media, in 2005. •
