Jennifer Burrell runs The Frock Shop out of Chicago — it’s a company that enables women to rent high-end dresses and other apparel for short periods of time. This time of year, she notes, is one of the slower periods for her, so she’s using the time — and the topics being covered in 100UE’s mentoring program — to, as she puts it, “think big about the business.”
That includes The Frock Shop’s market positioning, implementing an online-scheduling system (Burrell’s business is by-appointment-only, so scheduling is crucial), organizing partnerships with smaller designers and also with local colleges and universities, tapping their talent to help defray costs.
