The Honey Bunch Kids author Chental-Song Bembry has been extremely busy as she progresses through 100 Urban Entrepreneurs’ business-mentoring program; in just the past week she has received logo advice from her 100UE mentor; spent time networking at an NAACP gala; spoken to a group of schoolkids about the lifelong benefits of literacy; and scheduled a meeting with a designer about improving the Honey Bunch Kids’ Web site. Bembry lays it all out in the video below:

October 27, 2011: Marketing and Production Challenges for Solo Entrepreneurs

Chental-Song Bembry is the youngest fundee ever brought into the 100 Urban Entrepreneurs program; a high-school sophomore, she’s the author of The Honey Bunch Kids, a series of children’s books that aims to teach kids self-esteem, good behavior and self-reliance. Youthful or not, though, Bembry faces challenges common to any entrepreneur in business for herself: how to develop and market a product without big muscle (in Bembry’s case, a prominent publisher) behind her. In the video below, Bembry discusses how she’s managing those challenges — and what she hopes to get from the eight weeks she’s spending with 100 Urban Entrepreneurs.
